Unified communications adoption increases among small businesses to support flexible working
The adoption of unified communications (UC) and IP telephony among small and medium businesses continues its upward trend. Plantronics third annual Spiceworks survey conducted at the end of 2013 on the use of IP telephony and UC indicated that 54 percent of businesses currently use UC or plan to implement it in 2014. The adoption of IP desk phones, web and video conferencing, unified messaging and more supports trends in workplace flexibility and increased mobility. As more and more employees work anywhere and anytime, they need technology to keep connected to the office and to each other. UC and IP telephony fit the bill by enhancing collaboration while they increase productivity.
